Inspired by some of the children’s stories and content I consumed as a child, my Garden Witchies series is my concept for a children’s storybook based around six little witches living in a tree at the bottom of a garden. They enjoy the simple things like tending the garden, befriending critters and repurposing lost items. However, their peaceful little life is disturbed when the new house owner decides to “clean up” the garden, leaving the Witchies no choice but to sabotage.

Alongside the full page spreads, this collection of work also features a series of vignettes and a map of the Witchies’ tree home. As a child one of my favourite aspects of a book was being able to reflect back on all the places I visited in the story and then being able to locate where in fact that was. It’s another aspect of children’s stories that brings that joyfulness and nostalgia
